Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz cream cheese for glaze
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk (as needed for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, combine warm milk and melted butter; stir in the egg. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry mix until soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl and let it rise for 60 minutes or until doubled.
  3. While waiting, make the filling by beating cream cheese with sugar and vanilla; fold in strawberries and jam.
  4. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter over it, then layer on the cheesecake filling and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
  5. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes until golden brown. While baking, prepare the glaze by mixing cream cheese with butter and powdered sugar; drizzle over warm rolls.
