  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • 2 cups shredded phyllo dough (kataifi)
  • 1 cup pistachio cream
  • 4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • ½ cup heavy cream

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a baking pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, milk, and oil; mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in hot coffee until smooth.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cake before preparing the kataifi filling by toasting it with butter until golden brown.
  7. Mix the toasted kataifi with pistachio cream and spread over the cooled cake.
